FFR/Princeton BTGALA's Shawn Cowls is bringing us back to People for a special spring dinner! Our dinners have had a great turn out of folks of all ages. People serves wonderful pan-asian food. We will have an hour of passed appetizers and mingling over cocktails (cash bar), a reading / screening upstairs and then we'll have a buffet dinner with delicious food for all. We have the whole restaurant for this special event!

We are excited to have famed author and William & Mary alum Christopher Bram!  He will be reading from his new book "Eminent Outlaws: The Gay Writers Who Changed America."  Chronicling over fifty years of momentous change from civil rights to Stonewall to AIDS and beyond, Eminent Outlaws is an inspiring tale that documents the impact of LGBT authors in America, including Truman Capote, Gore Vidal, Tennessee Williams, James Baldwin, Christopher Isherwood,  Allen Ginsberg,  Edward Albee,  Edmund White,  Armistead Maupin,  Mart Crowley,  and Tony Kushner.  Christopher Bram's nine novels range in subject matter from gay life in the 1970s to the career of a Victorian musical clairvoyant to the frantic world of theater people in contemporary New York.  His novel Father of Frankenstein, about film director James Whale, was made into the movie Gods and Monsters starring Ian McKellen, Lynn Redgrave, and Brendan Fraser. Bram also teaches at New York University.

We are also excited to have renowned author and Barnard Alum Ellen Kushner!  Ellen is a triple threat - writer, performer and storyteller!  She is the host of PRI's remarkable radio Series, Sound & Spirit which Bill Moyers calls "the best program on public radio bar one."  She is the author of acclaimed works of literary fantasy including the "Riverside" series, as well as pieces she performs onstage, and is a popular teacher and lecturer.

Also presenting this evening is Nathan Manske. Nathan will be showing some excerpts from "I'm From Driftwood." "I'm From Driftwood" tells LGBTQ stories from every age, race, gender, background and culture to deepen our understanding of each other, preserve our history, and open hearts and minds.

On hand to sell books by our authors will be the Bureau of General Services - Queer Division!  The Bureau of General ServicesundefinedQueer Division is a queer bookstore and event space hosted by Strange Loop Gallery on the Lower East Side of New York City. They aim to foster a community invested in the values of mindfulness, intellectual curiosity, justice, compassion, and playfulness. They provide local and visiting queers and friends with an open and inclusive space for dialogue and socializing.

We thank the Lambda Literary Foundation, the organization that oversees the Lammys, for their assistance in arranging Mr. Bram's appearance!

We invite gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered men and women alums from the Ivy League and Seven Sisters schools and our friends from William & Mary, NYU, Stanford, Duke, UVA, Georgetown, Northwestern, Amherst, USC & Emory friends join in. Students over the age of 21 are also welcome.
